Swim Begins... ... ...

On Monday the kids new swim team season started. The season runs October until February, with District and State Qualifiers (which Erin insists she will be this year) extending into April. They practice 4 nights a week for an hour and competitive meets are every Saturday starting October 28th.

Needless to say that after the first two nights of practice I am surrounded by VERY tired kids.!! Their coach works them pretty hard. He has led the team to capture the League Sectional Championships two years running. He's great with the kids and keeps them very focused.

Also, last weekend we took the kids up to visit Dan's folks up in Marion, NY. It was a great drive as the sun was shining and the trees were starting to change color already. For all the dreary things I say about Erie, it is very beautiful at the change of seasons. The kids got to play with most of their Ballesty cousins and loved the fact that we took Friday off from school to go up early. Dan had a blast playing with the kids on Johnny's 4-wheeler and is already hinting that Santa should get him one! - J
