January came roaring in after the holidays with several FEET of snow (accompanied by blizzard conditions) , then some really beautiful INCHES (plural) of ice, which stayed on the trees for 3-5 days and finally some more snow to cap it all off. AND it's only the 15th!
The good news is we're getting some great ski time! Declan got a snowboard (and a Helmet!) for Christmas and is taking lessons to make the transition from skiier to snowboarder. He's really excited and is doing great. Another lesson or two and he'll be right back on the big slopes with the rest of us. We are all loving skiing this year. Dan and I have both gone pole-less now (the kids have never used poles) and I dare say we are starting to look less and less like "old folks" out on the slopes.
