This year the boys signed onto a Robotics team sponsored by Lego (among other companies). They start with a programming brick and a series of tasks. In September all the teams nationally are given the same set-up mat and tasks to accomplish. Then they are given 8 weeks to design a robot to complete as many tasks as possible. It is a point based system with harder tasks giving more points and all teams have 2 minutes 30 seconds to get as many points as possible.
Our team, The "Lego Mindstorm Troopers" did a fabulous job! They took 2nd place in the robotics competition against 45 other teams. They also took the trophy for 2nd place team spirit thanks to the cool signs we had to wave while we cheered them on.
