As we were leaving the orthopedist, Elise came down with the a fever and chills. We got her home and immediately quarrentined her to bed. (Erin was a little put out that she was kicked out of her own room, but after 2 days in the spare room now is liking the 'room to herself' idea.) A trip to the doc's the next day ruled out strep and confirmed the flu. H1N1 (ye ole swine flu) is making the rounds here and the doc sent a culture off to be tested but basically treatment is the same anyway. Stay in bed, stay away from others, drink lots of liquids, sleep a lot.
The other news we have (as IF we needed more news!) is that we now have a dog! Meet Teddy.
Teddy used to live down the road from us but his owners couldn't keep him any more and he loves kids and running! He is already well trained (and house trained) and looks to train very easily for any other issues. He appears to be a shepherd/akita/malamute/maybe collie mix. Cute as can be with a funny tail that looks like it was glued on after the fact! He's a lover with a taste for chasing wood chucks - exactly what we needed! - J
