The kids really love the once a week ski passes we got and have even taken a liking to the 1 hour lesson that they are taking. They are learning quickly and improving each time we go out. They are waiting with baited breath for March 1st to come because our passes turn from once a week to any time any day. Dan and I decided to get rid our ski poles as the kids all ski without them and we've really adjusted well to not having them. I suspect the next step is shorter skis and then .... ... snowboards all around! Maybe... ... - J

Super Skiing
Super Bowl Sunday found us once again out on the ski slopes. Declan’s foot had finally healed enough so he could ski on it again and he was thrilled! Believe me, he was not the least bit gentle on it either hitting every jump and rail on the snowboarding slopes. Peak N Peek (the local ski mountain) has a unique attraction on the snowboarding slope (in addition to all the metal rails, ramps, jumps and boards) this year they buried an entire SCHOOL BUS in the snow and the thing to do is to “ride the bus” by ramping up onto it and sliding across the metal top. So Dan and the boys had to make sure that they “rode the bus”. From what I hear, it is much harder than it looks with the need for some serious velocity to get you across the top of it. The boys seem to love the challenge though.
After skiing most of the day we headed back up the slopes to one of the slopeside condos rented by a buddy of Dan’s from work to watch the opening ½ of Super Bowl XLIII. Then it was home to catch the final minutes of an exciting win by the Pittsburgh Steelers and tottle off to bed.
