Ok, today is one of those days I ask myself, "Of all the wonderfully WARM places in the world to live, WHY are we still living here??" It was -10 degrees F this morning (that's -23 degrees C for those of you in the non-American areas!!) and we are expected to get a HIGH of 5 degrees F for noon and then back down below zero for the evening and overnight. This follows a full week of heavy snow storms and high winds. They are predicting another 8-10 inches of snow for the next few days, which would bring the season total above 105" already.
The kids and I are off to another swim meet tomorrow (the regular season has 5 weeks left) in Jamestown NY. It was white out snow conditions last year coming home from the Jamestown meet that we crashed our old van. Let's all hope that the snow abates and we have a safe trip. Declan won't be going with us tomorrow though, as he jumped out of the tree house on Monday and sprained his foot. It's not broken, but he is still having trouble putting any weight on it so he won't be swimming tomorrow. Everyone is swimming well this season, with Erin already qualified for Districts in one event and Elise and Liam shaving off time in hopes to qualify as well. Declan is too young this year to qualify but will enjoy the trip to Indiana, PA with us as well.
As usual, one of my New Year's resolutions is to TRY and keep this blog up to date, so please keep checking back. - J
