The Thunder of Ireland

As Ireland invaded Pittsburgh, so did we!

Not too long ago, Erin discovered a new singing group called "Celtic Thunder". The group consists of 5 incredibly handsome Irish/Scottish male singers doing traditional and modern celtic songs. She found out they were on tour near Erie and begged to go to the concert. So we grabbed her friend Moriah and the ladies (Myself, Erin, Elise and Moriah) headed out to the girls' first concert. Friday night Dan and the boys dropped us off at the Peterson Events Center at Univ. Pitt and headed to the hotel for a night of popcorn and movies. It was great fun, with girls oohing and ahhing well into the night.

Saturday morning we all headed to the Science Center and started out with a tour of the submarine USS Requin. None of us had ever been on a sub before and it was super cool!! I can't imagine living on one for months at a time, but we all agreed that it would be fun to go on an overnight trip or a weekend on a sub. From there we headed inside to an IMAX viewing of the Wild Ocean and a few hours of really cool hands on science fun!

After lunch we headed to the Carnegie Natural History Museum to see the new dinosaur bones exhibit. Unfortunately, a late lunch and an early closing time kept us from the dinos, but we did get to see an absolutely awe inspiring collection of minerals and gems from around the world. Even a REAL crystal skull, carved from a single stone. - J

P.S. Yesterday was our first significant snowfall of the season and we got 8 in. of heavy wet stuff overnight.
