September saw the start of a new and exciting school year here. Erin started at Northwest PA Collegiate Academy High School (2 years early) on August the 28th. We were thrilled that she was accepted early and all on pins and needles as the date came closer. After a couple of bussing hiccups, we got the routine all figured out. By the 10th of September not only had she settled in nicely but had already been to her first Freshman Mixer! So far, she really likes it, has a growing group of friends and seems to be doing very well academically (no report cards yet!!).
The other kids all started school September 3rd here at home. We are cyber schooling again this year and they are all settling into their routines well. We have been getting an early start most days as Erin catches the bus at 6:50am,
The first of October brought the beginning of another swim season! We know Fall is here in our house when the leaves change colors (beautiful this year!), the nights get crisp and we’re always out of fresh towels! All four kids are again swimming for the Eastside YMCA Swim Team here in Erie. The team has grown to 180 swimmers and 6 coaches this year and it looks to be another busy season. At least this year we are not manning the concession stand at home meets, so I’ll be able to watch them swim a bit more than last year.
Halloween is coming soon and we’ll just have to wait and see what costumes the kids pick this year. The boys are talking StormTroopers, Elise is looking at an Army/Camo costume and even Erin has decided to dress up this year, since they can wear a costume to school, though she hasn’t any ideas yet. -J
