Montreal Non-stop

We arrived very late Saturday night in Montreal, Canada after driving all afternoon and stopping for a great pizza dinner at a super place called "1000 Islands Restaurant & Pizzeria" in Brockville, Canada (tipizza@sympatico.ca).
Got a late start on Sunday, and after sorting out where we were headed, we picked up our tickets and wandered down to the Quays for a Cirque Du Soleil show. The "OVO" show was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen. It had acrobatics, gymnastics, trapeze, dance, music, and so much more. I enjoyed it tremendously and am sure that all the kids had an awesome time too. Afterwards, we wandered the Old City a bit, stopped back to the hotel and then later wandered around until we found a good Thai restaurant for Dinner.Monday it was rainy so we hit the Montreal Science Centre and had a great morning with all the hands on science exhibits. After a lunch of Quiches, Crepes and ESCARGOT, we went back to the hotel for a short siesta and then headed off to Eaton Centre for some Mall walking. The kids all tried the escargot with Declan loving it and Elise declaring that now she could tell her friends that she was "Forced to eat snails!" The kids are really getting into the vacation schedule of getting up and out by 9am, coming back to the room around 3 for a rest and then out again around 6pm. Dinner is around 8 and then back to the hotel at 10pm.

Tuesday brought more sunshine so after very little deliberation we decided it was off to La Ronde! La Ronde is the 6 Flags amusement park located just south of the city. Like everything else here, it is easily accessable by Metro and Bus and only took us about 1/2 to get to the park from our hotel. We arrived just before lunch and it was non stop rollercoaster, bumper cars, tea cup rides, etc. for the next 7 hours! Elise and Erin were rollercoaster nuts and Elise got the prize for the day for riding all but one coaster (we ran out of time!!). I was amazed at the upside down, death defying drop, feet dangling off, coaters that they went on. The boys had their share of awesome coasters and rides as well with Dan being the designated rider for everything except the most extreme. We did get them to pause long enough for a quick lunch, but other than that it was non-stop riding until they closed the park down at 8pm. It was a no brainer to order in Pizza once we got back to the hotel as the kids were bushed (and Dan and I were WRECKED!).

It's Wed. morning and who knows what today may bring. I'll keep you up to date. - J
